  • how to burn sd project to blu-ray in maximum quality?

    Hi,

I have a standard definition DV project (PAL 720×576 50i) that I plan to burn to DVD. However I have a blu-ray burner in my computer so I was wondering if I could also burn my project to a blu-ray disk with higher quality, ie less compression, due to blu-ray’s greater capacity? Or possibly no additional compression at all? I am using CS5 Master Collection so I have access to After Effects if needed.

    Thanks!
    Peter

you can, when exporting out of adobe premeire, which im assuming youre using, select mpeg2 – blu ray, and under resolution, theres an SD option for 720×480 in NTSC, so just make it PAL, boost the bitrate, throw it in encore and you’re good to go

Thanks Chaddix – I hadn’t seen that setting, so I’ll check it out.

OK that worked well. My test footage was only 6 min long so I maxed out the encoding settings: CBR 40 Mbps, M frames 2, N frames 8. Played nicely in my Blu-Ray player.

    Thanks again.
