    hello there…

i have been working on different mask, in after effects layers..

some times i want to break mask nodes, to make some critcle curves…

for example, i draw a circle on blank layer, and need to break the circle’s quarter arc,

and in so many other curves, some times, i need to modify few curves by breaking the nodes, like what we do in coral, illustrator..

now i need to know, how can we do this..

hope u scholars, understand my problem, i would be very glad if somebody can guide me to solve this problem….

    thanks

If I recall … you select the segment of the mask between two points, then click on layer>mask>closed up there in the menu bar. That should remove the segment you just clicked.

The switch goes either way: to open or close a mask.

I have the same question but 8 years later. In AE cs6 there isn’t any “closed up” option under layer/mask.

How can i break let’s say 1 node in a 4 nodes circle mask in a shape layer?

To close or open a path:
Select the 2 points from the path where you want the path to break open. Then go to “Layer” – “Mask & Shape path” – “Closed”.
