July 6, 2009 at 4:48 amok. i ‘think’ i have downloaded the zip file and used zipeg to unzip the file and it is now located in the location you recommended. how do i get fcp to recognize the new plug-in? i know this is probably a really rookie question, but this is my first plug-in i have had to work with. i assume that once the plug-in is activated, then i should be able to get to the extra tools as your example ? i r eally thank you for the help and hopefully i dont drive you crazy with dumb questions. aa

July 6, 2009 at 4:55 amUnzip it. Put it in the folder HARD DRIVE>LIBRARY>APPLICATION SUPPORT>FINAL CUT PRO SYSTEM SUPPORT>PLUGINS.
Then quit FCP, and relaunch FCP. This plugin will appear in the VIDEO FILTERS>BLUR category.

July 6, 2009 at 12:44 pmblur still not there. i have downloaded the file arb3.2.zip.download and then used ZIPEG to unzip file ARB3.2.fcfcc. i now have it in location: hard drive>library>application support>final cut pro system support>plugins. also in that same folder is the file ARB3.2.zip.download. should i delete that file ? possible conflict. i am doing something wrong, just cant seem to figure out what. does it matter if fcp is open or not when i unzip the file ? thank you for your time. a

July 6, 2009 at 4:29 pmIf Andy’s freebie will not work for you, just search for terms like _cop blur_ or _face blur_. We see this topic once a month or more so there are tons of useful threads from which to choose.

July 6, 2009 at 4:41 pm[alan armstrong] “used ZIPEG to unzip file ARB3.2.fcfcc.”
Don’t use that ZIPEG thing…it seems to be mangling the plugin. It shouldn’t be called ARB3.2.fcfcc. Mine is simply called Andy’s Region Blur 3. Just let the Mac OS unzip it.

July 6, 2009 at 8:06 pmnot a good day. i have moved all previous downloaded files to trash, downloaded new version of: ARB3.2.zip per instructions to desktop. i then went to finder and opened file, which put an unzipped version ( ARB3.2.fcfcc ) on desktop. fcp opens and error message – wrong file type. what else could i do to make this work ? i have also downloaded a version of stuffit and tried it with same results. some research says possible corrupt file. what is your opinion ? thank you
