  • How to: Batch Capturing from an MPG-file

    Hi VegasCows,

I am looking for a automatic capture way in Vegas.
I”m on a .mpg file and i need to capture certain cameramovements… but not everything (Film is 6hours).
I now want to set In and Out points and want to put it on a batch list. So at the end i marked everything i need and i will get myself a coffee (or more :D) while Vegas is capturing everything in.

Atm, i am using the movie into the track1 and then i am inserting In and Out and pressing Shift+m. But this is kinda… boring.

    Thanks for help,
    Dennis

    I’m confused.
The mpeg file is already on your computer, or you’re playing it in real time from somewhere,or ?

The Mpeg is on my local drive… actually there are about 7 1GB files. But i need just some of the cameramoves the director shot. At the end I have to rearrange this for a motiongraphic spot.
But at the moment i need to select just the relevant shots and get rid of the rest.

There is a long thread about Trimmer Usage that was just in the past day or two. Read trough that and you will see that there are several ways to approach this.

    Oh thanks.

Now i use TRIMMER for the whole sequence, In and Outpount with I and O, then A for putting this piece into the timeline, and I/O the next part.. and so on.
At the end i am Prerendering the Timeline (not the Trimmer) with the scanning enabled to get small clips and then i get a coffee (there we go).
At the end though, i must not forget to COPY/MOVE my prerendered movies to another (save) place because Vegas is deleting them after closing the programm. (Well at least i think Vegas is deleting them because i lost all of them once.)
