Any tips for keeping the edges of fonts from getting “crawly” looking as they increase in scale? I have motion blur on, but the scale adjust is slow so it doesn’t appear to help out. Do I have to resort to putting a small blur on the entire comp?

    Hi Steve,

Do you have the 1:2:1 deflicker function enabled in the project settings dialogue box? I would also suggest that you enable the “better quality field rendering” option, which is also located in the project settings window.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Yes, those are always left on as the result without them would be even worse.

These are rendered out with Animation codec – is there a better one out there for Avid that preserves “resolution” better?

I’m bringing them in at 3:1. I’ve never noticed much difference with 2:1 and we rarely do uncompressed work here.

    Hi Steve,

Have you tried adding some motion blur to the piece to see if that helps to eliminate the staggered movement that you are seeing?

    Cheers,

    Peter.
