    Hi guys

I have 2 HD comps (comp 1 & 2). In comp 2, i have a shot of a keyed actor with an empty picture frame. The frame is roughly the same dimensions as a 16×9 screen. In comp 1, i have some generic vision.

The idea is, as soon as comp 1 ends, the actor pulls back the frame, which has been placed just behind the cameraa lense. In post i have to place comp 1 into this frame. The the actor walks backward while holding the frame accross his stomach (width ways). The actor then folds the frame towards his knees and then slings it over his shoulder. I only have to comp upto the point where the frame folds at 90degrees, as the producer wanted to see through the frame as the actor slings it over his shoulder with his shoulder insde the frame..

Which is why this has not been shot with any green screen inside the picture.

I need to remove everything inside the frame, which is the actors torso as he pulls back the frame. His hands wrap aroound the front of the frame, however, not completely round on the inside.

The frame is brown, patchy and weathered. The shirt the actor is wearing is white with dark verticle stripes. There is quite a bit of varied motion in the shot ie. the actor rotates the frame and it bobs up and down as he walks backward.

What roto techniques can i use to place comp 1 inside the frame without it looking cheap. This is an opener to a well known program and i need it to look good.

    Thanks guys for any response.

    Chris

Can you track the inner corners of the frame, then apply that data to a solid using the corner pin effect, then use that distorted solid as an inverse alpha matte for the footage? Or instead of a solid, use a comp containing the content that will go in the frame?
