When a full chapter does not need editing in FX how to I mark off just a portion? I don’t usually want to create another chapter.
    Thanks in advance

Split the event (use the ‘s’ key to do this) at the appropriate spots and apply the FX to that portion only.

I thought there might be another way. That creates another chapter. Still OK. I’m lazy I guess

After you’re done, group everything together so that it moves as a single event.

    ” That creates another chapter.”

You need to get your terms correct or you’re going to run into trouble doing a search in the manual or the online help file.
A chapter is a designated section on the timeline (it could be a single event or multiple ones) separated by markers and is used by DVD Architect.

“I thought there might be another way”

There is and it’s called keyframing which can be a bit of a pain on a long event that you only want to have a small section affected.
Trust me when I say that the method I described is a LOT easier.

    It’s complicated enough
