how to apply effects to part of a video?? help
ok. i’ve got a video all imported and it’s on the timeline.. it’s about 10 mins long. how to i add an effect to start 2 mins into the video, and end after 3 mins??
please be as simple in the description as you can be, i’m very new to this software.
i’m using premiere pro cs3
if anyone knows of GOOD free video tutorials that would be a huge help too

Use the razor tool to make a cut at the point where you want to start the effect and another cut where you want to end. Now apply the effect between those two cuts.
You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

Another tip when using Razor trick – add a cross dissolve at cut point to bring effect in gradually to avoid jump, works well for Color Correction for instance

Or nest the video and keyframe the effect.
