how to add 1 second to beginning and end of events?

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ed, you did it. You saved my life!
I start with 2 different cameras/views (of a South African orchestra concert)
then I split the takes

then I want to make them fade in-out so I apply a 1 second fade (another script) to the take

but I don not want any ‘darkness’ in fading so I want to expand the take to ‘overlap’.
so I add 1 second to the upper track of all take splits

Woohaa. done. a lovely smooth transition from one view into another!!!
thanks guys. I am sure anyone else trying to make a smooth video with more than one video camera will appreciate your efforts.
