    Great video, thanks for sharing.

    Use a splatter graphic as a matte – create a black and white paint splatter, import that into AE. Drop it into a layer above the clip you want to mask off. In the TrkMt pulldown menu for the clip you want to mask off, select the paint splatter layer as a Luma Matte and voila!

    If you want to create some of the splatters in AE for your Luma Mattes, click on Andrew’s head, main AE page, then scroll down to “Fun with Ink”.

    If you’re talking about what I’m thinking you’re talking about, then it just looks like a quick series of matte stills. Take pics of paint and then turn them into mattes. Put them on the timeline in quick succession and see what it looks like
