Boosting up the shadow levels a bit beyond 0 IRE would do the trick, maybe combine with a shape mask for a little variation.

You could overlay a white solid, set the blend mode to ‘lighten’, ‘soft light’ or similar and play with the opacity if you wanted to mess around with an alternative way of doing but I agree with Noah – it’s all in the way grade with the examples you’ve shown.

    Thanks for the reply Noah.

I am a newbie here esp in Final Cut Pro.

Is there a way you could teach me (like a video tutorial showing it) or if you know a video tutorial on creating the same effect?

I would appreciate if it’s possible though.

I just really need to learn how to do it and mess with it.

    Thanks in advance!
    Sam

I would really appreciate even if it’s just a quick video showing it how it’s done. PLease.
