    Using Sony vegas 9 pro

Briefly watching to Tutorial type videos just now trying to understand how to add effects to the timeline.

At least two really basic things seem not to be covered. Maybe they are too obvious .. (not to me though)

    1) They show a properties window or diaglog of somekind that pops up when you add an effect to the timeline.

For example… mirror is used in one.

In the video tutorial the fellow used controls and such to alter the mirroring effect.

When I add the mirror effect to the timeline directly from the videoFX tab… the pop box I get doesn’t have any of that stuff at all.

Its a dull grey box that seemingly is pretty useless. Of course I know that isn’t the case but I see no kind of controls other the ability to set key frames that appear to do nothing whatsoever.

There must be another window I’m not getting to or something. No amount of right/left clicking on the uninfomative box I do get shows anything helpful… Maybe something under the view menu is not turned on, but I don’t see what it might be.

I’ve linked a screen grab showing the box I see. How to access the properties controls?:

For whatever reason, all your keyframe and other controls have been hidden.
TO restore them, move your cursor down from the top of the box until you see the symbol in the screen grab below.
When you see it, click and drag down until you see what you’re supposed to be seeing.

Gackk… I think this is one of those `I’m a dope’ moments.

    Thanks
