Have a std. def. spot shot and edited 16×9. Shot on SDX900, edited FCP5, Kona-2. Now time to make a 4×3 beta sp dub.

8-bit, uncompressed anamorphic capture and edit went flawlessly but now having issues making a simple 4×3 dub out of the kona-2.

Tried dropping the 16×9 sequence in to a 4×3 sequence but the spot looks stretched tall ala Paula Abdul video.
Tried copying-pasting clips from 16×9 sequence into a 4×3 sequence, still stretched.
Tried exporting the spot with current 16×9 setting then bringing in and placing in 4×3 sequence, still stretched.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Craig,

I have seen this a few times in FCP, sometimes it gets a bit buggy with these settings.

I would do this in the following methodical order

    create a brand new sequence
    Load the appropriate sequence preset
Apple key “0” to open timeline settings
    Check the anamorphic box
nest the 16X9 sequence into the 4X3 sequence.

CHECK that the sequence you are dropping in is set to anamorphic.
It sounds like that is the missing link.
Make sure that main sequence is actually checked as a 16×9.

Sometimes we set the montiors, window dispplay, etc to 16×9 but not the actual sequence.

    David
