How much dv can i put on a dvd for replication?
I am cutting a film and need to know how much data is safe to put on a dvd and send it to the replicator safely? I have about an hour and 40 minutes of footage and need to fit it on a dvd for replication

I don’t understand what you want to do.

You don’t generally put DV on a DVD for replication.

You can put “raw” DV footage on a DVD-R (or DVD+R) ffor storage.
You can only put 4.7 GB on a single-layer DVD.
That is only about 20 minutes of raw DV footage.

Or you can “burn” a standard DVD (that will play on a standard DVD player) from DV footage.
You can record anywhere from 1 to 4 hours of “compressed” footage on a single layer DVD (the less the length, the less compression will be needed, and the quality will be better.)

Please post back with much more info as to what you are trying to accomplish.

you can put any amount of video on a DVD, it just matters how much compression you’re willing to put up with. you could put 10 hours, but don’t expect to recognize your video due to the heavy compression.
