Hi all, I am trying to create swatches from some placed artwork in ID, and clueless on how to do this. Is there no way to use the eyedropper like you can in AE, where you just click on a color to define a swatch? What I am doing now is opening up PS, figuring out what the color is, and then going back to ID to manually create the swatch. Reminds me of the joke “how many adobe programs does it take to screw in a lightbulb.” thx for ur advice.

You don’t have to open anything than the Indesign.

To create a swatch from placed graphic:

Use a color picker and choose color from artwork
Don’t forgett that color picker picked color values in RGB(convert it in color palette (f6) to CMYK

Once the color is picked just click to “New Swatch” button in Swatches palette.

    That’s it! 🙂

    utfg nextime 😉
