  • How large can I make a layer map (pixel dimensions) for ProAnimator?

    Hi,

I’m trying to create an animation using ProAnimator where I have a globe and the continent of Africa is filled with video tiles (using a trkmat).

I’m wanting to start with the camera pushed into a single tile and then pull out to reveal the continent of Africa on the globe.

I can get this to work, but I’m currently not happy with the results.

I’m wanting to have hundreds of clips filling Africa, but right now, the most I can get is about 67.

The issue is that when I push the camera in close enough to fill the frame with one video tile, the tile is soft.

I tried making a bigger layer map, but then ProAnimator doesn’t seem to show anything.

Any ideas/suggestions? What’s the max pixel dimension of a layer map for ProAnimator?

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

As discussed on the phone, try rendering out the Pre-comp since you’re using such as large Layer Map. Then use the video as a Layer Map and see if this works better for you.

If you’re still having problems, please let me know. You can contact me directly at ed@zaxwerks.com and I’ll be able to help you out.

    Best,
    Edward
