thats just a photoshop painted image there are no effects in it.
I see a gradient background with some dots on it
I see a cartoon character with some shading painted on it.
I see a hand drawn 3d wireframe cube with a soft edged white blob for a glowing center.

If by effects you mean the lighting on the character, then the artist had a rudimentary knowledge of lighting and shading, and used a soft edged brush on a screened layer in photoshop.

Ok i might lack the proper technical terms, but everytime i try to do something like this cartoon look it lacks the wow-effect. Something in this picture makes it look magical. All the difference betwen the look of “king lion” by disney and a homemade low budget cartoon by the guy next door. I hope you can catch what i try to mean?

    Thank you

Hmm … I get just a solid yellow banner at the top of the lynda.com window. Where could I find the banner of which you speak?

On the right side of the yellow banner there should be a magician holding a shiny box

Like I said the artist shaded it and had some taste. It’s on Lynda.com and they sell Tutorial DVDs for digital artists. You can’t just use flat fills and expect to sell educational materials to artists.

You need to find a better artist. Or if its you … practice practice practice.

I am suscribed to lynda.com online libraries can you give the name of that title? or please give a hint of the technics used to “shade it and have some taste”?

This is the cartoony look i wanna give to some of my upcoming projects, thanks for helping.
