How is this effect done?
Posted by Mike Stewart on January 31, 2010 at 4:29 amhttps://www.erik-lauritzen.com/lbh.mov
I was wondering about the zoom streaks, it does not seem like it is camera blur, the streaks seam like they go in the opposite direction, but fits the look, also the 3d grain effect of going into the passport, what would be the best way to do these?
Thanks

January 31, 2010 at 4:46 amHere is one way to do it using a 3rd party plug-in:

There are a few other ways of doing this… do a search and you can find references to other tutorials.

January 31, 2010 at 7:46 amYou can create directional blur like this with Trapcode’s Shine, or any radial blur sort of effect.
The 3d grain thing is just a layer in AE’s 3d space. Take a photograph (or get a stock photograph) of something grungy, colorize it, and place it in AE’s 3d space.

You can tweak the look of your motion blur quite a bit in the Advanced tab of your composition settings. To completely reverse it, though, I’d animate the sequence backwards, render it with motion blur, re-import the render, and reverse it.
