How is this effect done?
At 2:12 and 2:41 there is a ‘ghosting’ effect. How is it done? Is it just multiple layers, staggered, with varying levels of opacity?

Duplicate the tracks, offset them by a few frames, try 15 to start, and reduce their opacity.
This took me about five minutes. The delayed tracks are on top of the main track. Main track is 100% opacity, and the tracks above it are 34%, 45% and 55% opacity.

You can buy Pixelan StepMotion 2 and it will do this as a plug-in to Vegas. The other plug-ins in that suite are also great to have.
