  How does Resolve resolve corrupted frames

  Hi,

  We’ve had intances in which some frames of the files seemed to be corrupted. In some other softwares those frames were replaced with duplicate frames that came 1 frame before those frames, but in DaVinci Resolve those frames were marked as “Media Offline”. Those frames were marked as Media Offline even on export.

  Does DaVinci always handle corrupted frames this way (labeling them Media Offline) or are they ever replaced with black frames or just duplicated frames? If the file is corrupted more heavily does DaVinci give you an error message about corruption?

  Affirmative answers would be reassuring, since you can spot corrupted frames and files more easily that way, rather than just duplicating them (like some other softwares do).

  Our workflow is: we transcode source footage to DNxHD of high quality, edit it in Avid and then Colour in Resolve. It would be nice to be able to already tell whether we have some media corruption in the process of transcoding to DNxHD files.
