How does one export their movie to a DCP file??

I need to know a.) whether or not I can export my movie using Final Cut Pro or Compressor into a DCP file. I also need to know how to do this and what method would give me the best quality.

It is worth noting that I do not know the specifics of what kind of DCP file is needed and assume the settings are up to me but I might be wrong. Please help!

Can anyone tell me how to do this, step by step? I need to figure this out pretty quickly.

DCPs differ for each end client. You NEED the specs to create a DCP. No ifs, ands, or buts.

As a general rule, a complete DCP CANNOT be created directly from FCP and/or Compressor. It’s been a)get a high end facility grade system to create the DCP or b)scour the web and get a whole bunch of freeware/share apps with little or no documentation and make it manually.

Get the DCP specs, and reverse engineer from there.

Quvis is out of business. Qube Master Export works, but you should be willing to learn about DCP workflows and settings. You can get in trouble if you don’t do your homework.

Or have someone create one. (Like us:)

Hi Devon,

In case you or other folks are out there with the same question, I’d like to respond. QuVIS does provide software (Wraptor) to create a DCP. We were never out of business, but did have to scale back until we raised more money last year.

That said, we’ve used the money to invest in new products. Wraptor 2.0 just launched in March. It is very easy to use – just a few steps to make a DCP.
