  • how does one do a “freeze” frame for an extended period in the time line

Posted by Brent Holland on November 16, 2013 at 11:11 pm

I have a project where I need to do a freeze frame at the end of a head shot while music and text covers over it.

Is there an easier way than taking a screen grab as a photo and then inserting that?

    Thx all.

    a) Split the event where you want the freeze. Make a subclip of that event. Make sure looping is off and extend the event the amount of time you want the still visible.

    b) Enable a velocity envelope and move the envelope to zero at the point you want a freeze. You will likely have to extend that clip a bit to compensate for the freeze duration.

    c) snapshot a still like you mentioned.

Hit the nail right on the head Norman.
    Love using the Velocity envelope.

thx to all! geez I just added my avatar …so serious…if only they knew. It is all for a doc I am doing for Dallas next week on Ted Sorensen. I had interviewed him Sep 18 2010 and he passed away Oct 31 2010 I have his last interview. He was the most amazing person I have ever met.

I love my country Canada dearly but only America could produce a JFK, Dr King, Bobby and Ted Sorensen.

BTW I won’t keep you in suspense and save you from buying my book : conspiracy confirmed, not I repeat NOT a coup. National Security and for that you have to buy the book lololol just kidding email me
