  • How does Media Manager handle multiclips?

Posted by Stevec on June 24, 2006 at 5:30 pm

First I have not used Media Manager a whole lot.
Second I read through the manual and can not really find this answered.

I did a project with a live switch and 2 ISO cameras (totaling 3 tapes) I digitized all the angles and multicliped each scene.

In hind sight I didn’t need the ISO camera as much as I thought I would. I have since deleted the media and now need to re-digitze only what I actually used (possibly with slight handles).

Can I run the project through Media Manager and tell it to delete unused media (with add handles).

How will it do that since the media is already deleted?

Will Media Manager give me only the angles of the Multiclip that I actually used.

    Thanks

I have had zero trouble using MM for my uprez of my multicam shows.
As you go through the MM process, it will ask you
if you want to capture all the angles or just
the ones you used in your sequence.
My biggest problem with MM remains with still frames.
For some reason it just doesn’t like to capture those.
It’s a real pain because you have to go find them and replace them
manually. Besides that, the uprez process is no big deal.

Follow the instructions here and you will be fine. It’s for
FCP 4.5 but it works the same for 5.
