    Hi everyone,

I just look at the new release of Noah regarding the P2 workflow and FCP. It is quite easy to ingest P2 footage with P2CMS. The problem that I got is “How do you finally archive your media?”.

Cause P2CMS seem to work only with optical disk and exclusively DVD Ram, not DVD+R or DVD-R, etc…

I ask the technical support at Apple Canada, to see if the super drive of my MacPro can use DVD Ram and they told me that DVD Ram is obsolete and it is not supported since OS 9. So what is your way out to archive properly yours medias.

    Thanks for your help

I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone actually using P2CMS to archive… maybe your reason is the reason why?

I’m just starting to use the database feature but I use a separate data backup system for the P2 backups. (One that I just found out yesterday is no longer considered to be compatible with 10.4.10 or 10.4.9… wheee!

Guess I get to hit Leopard sooner than I’d planned…
