  • How do yoy navigate to first play file in DVDA?

Posted by Paul Gregory on March 1, 2014 at 1:57 am

I finally have my Blu-ray project rendered onto a re writable disk.

I suspect that I must have some navigational error because when I play the disk I don’t get to see the ‘first play’ file. I get to see this file in DVDA preview where it plays OK & then takes you to the main menu. If I navigate on the PC to the disks files, opening them I can see the file is on the disk & can even play it by clicking on it. I can even see the small purple star next to this opening file.

Where do I start looking for the error?

    Thanks in advance

I thought that the encoding may have picked up some incorrect details when it used some previously rendered out files. So I asked for it to re render to Blu-ray from scratch.

Ass I got is this error message.

    ‘File name: 00005.m2ts
Status: Vegmuxtw.dll::CTSWrapper::ProcThreadMain::This program has a bug. – m_ptsOfNextGOP is empty.’

I have no idea as to what that means. Does anyone know?

Incidentally I’m curious as to what you might be able to see from the DAR file? I have never had an attachment in this forum. How is that done?

    Thanks in advance

This program has a bug means that This program has a virus.

What programmer would ever put that message into a program?

You attach files by clicking on the diskette icon above.

Your DAR file will tell me how you structured your DVD menus. I can add my own media to test it here.

I can’t see how I can possibly have a virus. The first thing that happens every morning before anything else is an update of both my anti-virus & malware programs & then a scan by both programs. The most that I have ever seen is some PIP files (potentially unwanted programs) & these are always deleted.

    Thanks in advance

Apparently, someone *did* program this, but not at Vegas. It appears that even Scenarist has this problem. Further reading shows it in the demux routine. Did you change the GOP size from the default?

I have never altered the GOP size. I don’t even know where that is done or exactly what its for & its implications.

    Thanks in advance

[Stephen Mann] “What programmer would ever put that message into a program?”

I do that. I put out diagnostic messages in certain situations(branches) that should not happen. In fact in the compiler I call the procedure “Bug” which does nothing other than raise an internal error which aborts the current action.
