How do you “unlink” a video and its audio track so that you can lengthen/shorten/whatever something without affecting its other part on a different track? I was messing with a clip and when I tried to make the video longer (add back what I had cut out), it didn’t bring the audio with it and instead just left it behind. What did I do to cause this? I had played with a bunch of functions, so I can’t really determine which one did this.

Just make sure that Ignore event Grouping is selected.

Select the event and press the U key to permanently Ungroup them. if you do use Ignore Event Grouping as Steve suggests, just remember to disable it when you’re done because it ignores all event grouping on all events which could get you in trouble. The U key will just affect the one event.
