i have a bunch of 3d layers in a comp and a camera. i want to create the effect of a rack focus between a bunsh different layers. i’m doing this by keyframing the focus distance and use a large aperture and high blur level. is there an easy way to tell what the focus distance needs to be for a particular layer to be in focus?

ps: a quick basic question: how do you change a keyframe back to normal once you’ve added easy ease?

By far, the best way I’ve found is to open up another view & use one of the custom views. If your camera is selected, this lets you see where the focus distance is in relation to the objects. (It’s one of the boxes that come off the end of the camera.) This allows you to move the camera around from point to point, but always get what you want in focus.
