  • how do you repair a corrupt Thumbnail table?

Posted by Robb Harriss on December 18, 2012 at 9:43 pm

All of a sudden I got this when publishing an updated catalog to the server.
“Failed to publish changes (insertThumbnail failed (Incorrect key file for table ‘./catdv/thumbnail/MYI’; try to repair it))”

Ok, how? I’m getting other error messages along the same lines (I’ll try to post the screen grabs here). There’s no “repair” function on the MySQL control panel (I’m on OSX 10.7.5) as indicated in some of the SQL repairs I’ve found mentioned out on the web. At this point I cannot open or publish anything from/to the server and I’m very, very stuck. Anyone have some help?
    Thanks,
    Robb

On the server control panel (be sure you are running the latest version) try to perform housekeeping from the tools menu. If the problem persists send those same screen shots along with the server log (also accessible from the control panel) to support@squarebox.com for help.

Yeah, I already tried that. I’ll have to gather everything and send it off.
    Thanks

Now I can’t even get the CatDV server to start. I just sent the server log file and screen grabs of the error messages off to support.

The repairs to the MySQL file helped. Turns out that I had a couple of bad video files that CatDV kept choking on. I deleted those files (they wouldn’t play anyway) and CatDV started working again.
Note that there were some QT referenced files of timelines that were output from FCP for visual reference for audio mixing in Soundtrack Pro. CatDV really did NOT like those files. I trashed those as well. I stopped using them long ago but there were a few still resident on this raid set. Those referenced files had been consistently problematic and I’d been using fully rendered version of the video for sync.
