  • How do you paste a image into a layers layer mask??

Posted by Gizmo1990 on March 11, 2006 at 6:53 pm

I’m using CS2 and I can’t work out how to paste a bitmap image into a layer mask?

I thought I could just CTRL-C the image I want, then click on the layers layer mask and CTRL-V it but it just creates a new layer instead?

    Any help appreciated.

Copy the image into the clipboard.

Make active the layer mask you want to paste into.

    Bring up the channels palette.

In addition to your color channels, you should see a channel for the layer mask.

Make that channel active and paste.
