  • How do you move ALL volume keyframes in a track?

Posted by Larry Delceg on February 15, 2011 at 10:07 am

I have a PP audio track to which I spent hours applying a complex series of volume change keyframes. Then I had to move the audio clips over about 30 seconds to add a leading section of audio. The volume change keyframes did not move with with the rest of the clips! These keyframes are now out of synch with the audio in the track.
How can I select all of these keyframes and slide them over – without having to move every single keyframe one at a time?
    Thank-you for the assistance!

This is quite simple. Select the pen tool.
Open out the audio track and set the view of it to show keyframes on the actual track. Then marquee select a box around the first keyframe all the way out to the end of the sequence. Now all the key frames are selected and can be moved as one group in sync with what you had before. Just get the first keyframes position right and the rest of the selection will fall into line. 😉

Remember that in PPro, you can set audio keyframes at either the clip level or track level.

Clip level keyframes will ripple with the clips, but also get deleted when you delete a clip

Track level keyframes will don’t ripple automatically, but remain regardless of the clip content on the track.

    Hi Alex,
I never really understood how the clip level and track level keyframes are different until you explained it to me. This makes some other things make sense now too.
Thanks for taking your time to help with this!

    Best Wishes,
