let me see if i have this right…correct me if i’m wrong graeme…

the cheapest solution to monitor dvcpro hd is to get a decklink card and connect via component to my 2405(however, there may be problems such as that mentioned at hdforindies).

for an additional $695, i can purchase the hdlink and connect to dvi to my 2405 w/o the issues mentioned above.

    a few questions:

wouldn’t it be ideal to monitor hd footage via dvi instead of component?

black magic has 4 cards. your article mentions the 4:4:4 version. since dvcpro hd is 4:2:2, will that work fine? how about the lower cost cards(hd and hd plus)?

wouldn’t this benq work as a great hd monitoring option since it has 1920×1080 rez: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-8qyuRcg9s11/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=610DV3750&search=benq+37%22

thanks for your time and help graeme…

DVI is ideal, but remember 720p is not scaled to fit, 1080 fills the screen (apart from the small black border top and bottom) and although the new driver for the HDLink will do interlace nicely, I can’t seem to get that feature to work here, and that’s annoying as I was the one who requested it in the first place!

I guess the BenQ would work as well, but I don’t know anyone who’s tried it. If you go down that route, be sure to tell us how you get on!
