  • How do you find a corrupt file?

Posted by Eric Thompson on January 26, 2010 at 7:47 pm

I am working on a project with a large number of video clips both in SD and HD. In the middle of the project I began importing more video and music. After that I got a message when trying to render: File Error: Acess denied. The music was imported via SonicFire Pro as AIFF files. I thought that this problem is due to a corrupt file so I dumped my music files but that had not effect on the problem. I am working on multiple projects and can not render any of them. As a matter of fact I am now getting the unlimited RT warning which I am thinking is related to my problem. I have trashed my preferences and don’t know what to do. I am completely log jammed so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much
    Eric

I’m also having trouble with my log and capture tool as it is saying File Error: Unknown file. Is this related? I’ve not changed any settings.

I found a work around and now my whole system is back to working like it should.

The workaround is go into System settings>Scratch disks
and select the video render files to go to another drive
(hopefully you have a second drive or external drive available)
This will enable you to render out and finish the project.

I’ve got a terabyte of storage just for render files so we’ll see how long that’ll last.

Digital Rebellion has a program – FCS Maintenance Pack – that includes a program called Corrupt Clip Finder Check it out.
