  • How do you debug a major difference between timeline/preview and rendered output?

I have a really simple, short sequence. The timeline and preview show me exactly what I want. Yet, when I render I see something different. Clips start and end points are vastly different than in the timeline…off by seconds, not frames. Is there a way to debug this? I’ve tried restarting final cut a few times to no avail.

What codec(s) are you working with?
Hit butterfly-9 to check the media and butterfly-0 to check the sequence – let us know what is in the “Compressor” field.
