I may been asking the wrong question before so here I go again.
Let`s say that you want to cut down the ammount of light in your final project. How should I go about? Apparently every attempt give`s me the same outcome.
A- cutting the ammount of whites or mids
    B- cutting down the opacity
I also tried some filters with no success
The bottom line is that I need to lower the luminosity of the clip and make sure that during output to sd dvd keeps that setting.
Any suggestion please, or point e in the right direction.
The dvd looks fantastic it`s only to bright.

I personally would not want to lower the opacity. Typically we color correct scene by scene. I almost never apply a single setting to a whole project. The methods you are using seem to be correct. Lowering the Highs (whites) and Mids will lower the percieved brightness (luminosity) of a scene. You might want to use a filter such as a broadcast safe filter and see if that improves the result. But again you’ll have to apply that scene by scene. What seems to be the problem that you are correcting?

It sounds like much of the project may have been over-exposed. When we shoot in the field we reqularly under expose slightly. That way it prevents loss of detail in highlighted areas. And as a side benefit it prevents the problems you may be experiencing now.

    Txs for your prompt reply
Yes I did try the broadcast safe filters and also level filters also hsv filters… well I tried many things…
So if the footage was overexposed…. how do I cut down the luminosity ?? any experiments you can suggest?
