  • How do we delete C4D cache?

Posted by Engin Osmanovski on April 5, 2016 at 11:44 pm

I am a Cinema 4D beginner. I came from After Effects and in AE when our disk starts to get filled up, we have to go to Preferences and empty our disk cache. But in contrast to AE, i couldn’t find any “Empty Disk Cache” kind of button in Cinema 4D’s preferences. How do we delete the accumulated cache of Cinema 4d? Where does it cache by default? Sorry if i am missing something obvious.

Cinema doesn’t create any cache files by default. There are a number of specific caches that may be created, e.g. by the picture viewer, GI rendering cache, dynamics cache, etc. For the most part these are simply deleted when you close the program, unless you specifically save a scene file, but it depends on the type of cache you’re dealing with.

Somehow, after everytime i use the program, 100-200 mb of my disk gets filled up. It is not much but filling up my small SSD slowly and it will be a problem in the future if it continues this way. 🙂
