  How do TV video editors find specific footage from months or years ago?

  This is just a little question I have to all editors that work with TV:

  Watching some World Cup music videos, I wondered how the editors could find specific scenes com matches that happened 2 yeas ago, for example. Do they need to search through all the footage to find the scenes or there’s some kind of database where the timings for that specific moment are kept? I also see this happen in reality shows and such, and asked myself the same question. I work as a wedding editor, and sometimes it’s hard to find some good scenes for clips and music videos, so I imagine how it is in TV work.

  So, how do you guys do it?
