How Do Mattes Work In Vegas?
Posted by Ken Bennett on August 14, 2013 at 11:55 pmI’ve got a bunch of motion mattes from Rampant Design and need to use them in some Vegas projects. Luma Key and Chroma Key do nothing. So how do you get these to work? I just need to key out the white sections.
Thanks.

August 15, 2013 at 12:38 amSimple, you just place it on an above track over the video
and change the Compositing Mode of that track to Multiply, etc.
Luma Keying and Chroma Key has nothing to do with the process.Steve Rhoden

August 22, 2013 at 7:02 amreading the original question, I get the impression that the user has a bunch of video effects with a background that he wants to remove. so i’d expect that the files contain an alpha channel for that purpose. I may be wrong, only the topic starter can tell, by checking the files or rephrasing his question. ed
