  • How do I use the 16×9 aspect ratio in Final Cut Pro 4?

Posted by Luthervig on November 14, 2006 at 5:17 am

I am currently using Final Cut Pro 4 and am shooting on Sony HDR-HC1 using the HD setting. I then down convert to DV in the 16×9 format but when I begin working with my footage in Final Cut it is Letterboxed in the viewer. When I Export my final sequence it is out put to standard 4×3 Letterboxed. I know I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what. Anybody out there ever have this problem?
    Thanks!

Sounds like you’re putting the clips into a 4:3 sequence. Choose an anamorphic easy set up and then open a new sequence. Also make sure the clips have the anamorphic check box checked.
