How do I update AE CC?
Hi,
I went to the help menu/updates, choose “adobe after effects cc”, updated, but Im still on version 12.2.1.5.
How do I fix this?
When running the application manager again, AE is no longer listed.Stig

Open the Creative Cloud application and install/update Ae from there.
After Effects CC 2014 (v13) is a separate install that will leave your existing After Effects CC (v12) install intact.

The next version of AE (releasing sometime this spring) will include some further options for UI customization. If you find the current version too unusable (even after messing with the preference settings), you could continue to use the older version until the update comes out.
Or, you could do as I did, and just get used to it. I kinda prefer the darker version now.
