How do I update a psd. brought in as a composition?
I’m doing some character animation in After effects CC and I brought my character psd file into after effects as a composition so i can animate the layers all separately. I just finished rigging up the character and I just realized I forgot to add some more details to the character. Is their a way I can update the composition to match the updated psd file?

Select the layer in the project window, press “cntl+e” to edit original, edit then re-save. Should automatically update in AE.

From After Effects Help:
Refresh footage items
To refresh footage items selected in the Project panel to use the current versions of the source footage files, choose File > Reload Footage. -
Select the layer you need to update in your time line, hit CTRL+E and it will open the graphic in Photoshop. Make your changes, then save it and return to After Effects and it will be automatically updated for you.
Be careful not to add layers or rename layers, or it could mess up your AE composition. If you add layers, you will need to re-import the layers as a composition, then copy and paste to where you need them. Here’s a good discussion of some of the issues with layered PSDs:
