    Well, this is stupid!!

I’ve been trying to remove a pulldown from a clip in cinema tools to no avail. Thinking that it might be something other then a 3:2, I thought Final Cut might be able to “detect” it.

I selected the clip in the browser and chose Tools > Cinema Tools Reverse Telecine

Without prompting me with anything, it went to work so I just waited patiently to see what the results would be.

First of all, it didn’t work – the resulting video just has the same weird interlacing cadence as I was getting out of Cinema Tools.

But then I realized that it overwrote my original clip with this new bad one!

    WHAT THE HECK?!

I can’t very well “re-do the pulldown because I don’t what cadence it was to begin with!

Everything else in Final Cut Pro is non-destructive. How is it that the one destructive menu item doesn’t even warn you that it is!

More importantly, how do I at least get this clip back to where I was?
