How do I turn this darn thing off?
How do I turn this loop region static thing off? I must have turned it on accidentally and now whenever I select a region the selection remains there until i select something else (see pic).

Options – Prefs – Editing. Select the Collapse loop region when no time selection is present option.

Thanks for that information. Mine’s been doing that forever and I’ve just been collapsing it manually on the timeline. Irritating! Thanks again.

Vegasaur also has a handy little feature that collapses the loop region
