How do I solve this problem?! With Video
Posted by Kyle Sowden on August 9, 2011 at 5:54 pmOkay, so watch this video > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF-9e7WG8Ps
If you can’t see what i’m trying to do, i’m trying to rotate the circle AND text around it’s centre and it keeps messing up. Any ideas?

August 9, 2011 at 6:41 pmTry putting your objects in a null , objects > null in menu or alt G. Then you should adjust the axis using the object axis tool in the panel on left side. Then just rotate the null.
hope this helps

August 10, 2011 at 12:03 amI’am sorry I thought you did not move it back correctly after you moved it. It seems that the issue you might be having is that you did not switch back to the model tool to move the object with out it working oddly.
hope that clears it up

August 10, 2011 at 12:23 amI recreated the scene and came across the same problem. It looks like a bug but there may be a reason for it.
At any rate, the work around I used was creating a null (not a group) and moving it to the center point of the BG layer. Then placing all 3 elements inside of the null separately. After all the elements were in the null i needed to adjust some of the keyframes until they looked right.
Once everything was in the null and looking right I keyframed the null rotating.
Here is the video, let me know if this is the look your are going for.

August 10, 2011 at 2:48 pmYes, that is exactly what I was going to do!
It was going to spin, and on the other side of the circle two more letters would fly in.Could you please send me the project file for that? If it’s not too much hassle.

August 12, 2011 at 3:36 pmSorry. It seems as if you had selected the polygon tool instead of the object tool in the previous keyframes to the rotation, isn’t?
Poor english…
