  • How do I replace Media?

I have several hard drives with hundreds of one hour quicktime files. The naming for these clips have been changed for batch list purposes. There were previous edits with the old names. When I go to reconnect the media, none of the clips can be selected. What do I do? My only thought is to import the new named media and replace it in the edits. I’ve never done this before. How do I keep the old edits and switch out the media?

    Thanks,

    Eric

If you can remember which source clips go where and what you renamed them, you should be able to reconnect them anyway. There is a checkbox to turn off in the reconnect dialog box. (the same name – turn it off) then you’ll be able to connect to the media which has been renamed. Course, you have to know which connects to what…

Otherwise, you can import the renamed clips, and re edit them in.
