How do I remove the texture from my text?
Hi all,
I’m fairly new to After Effects and have come up against a bit of a problem concerning my text layer.
I’ve included a screenshot of my workspace so you can see what I’m talking about:
I want the text to appear as it moves into the circle and have tried to mask the layers accordingly but I don’t want any of the textures underneath the text to be applied to the text itself. I just want it to appear as solid white. I’ve had a play around and I can’t get the text to appear solid white without losing the circle’s masking effect.
I hope that makes sense! I’m sure there’s probably a simple fix, as I said, I’m fairly new to After Effects but I’d really appreciate any help whatsoever.

You’ve set the Track Matte for the text correctly. However you’ve set its Blending Mode to Add; which picks up RGB values from layer below it. In fact, that’s how Blending Modes work – they combine the pixels within the Blending Mode with a composite of the pixels, of all active layers below it.
