  • How do I rasterize blend mode and layer effects without merging layers?

Posted by Chris Dukes on August 13, 2006 at 6:27 am

I’m making credits for a film, there are a lot of names with a common background. The text layers were rasterized before I applied the layer effects and blend modes. Now I want to take the text into FCP on video layers seperate from the background but I don’t want to use the blend options in FCP. I also don’t want to create a seperate file for each credit. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

You’ll need to start merging layers (either multipel together or indiviudals with emopty-blank layers)

Otherwise, you’ll need to use blend modes in the supported program.

AE has better support for blendmodes than FCP

Thanks for the answer. You would think Photoshop would have some function for this and I’m really surprised it doesn’t. I’ll just make the video in after effects. Thanks.
