I was watching a video on something else and noticed someone had 2 textures on an extrude. one for the cap and one for the sides of it. how do I do this?

In C4D S22 these are exposed in a tab but prior to that you’d have to remember them or reference the manual
You need to assign a selection to each material.

    Thanks Sam

I’m still in R19 so I used the abbreviations you posted in the screengrab. the link to the manual I can’t seem to find the list of the polygon selection abbreviations. that screengrab you posted where did that come from R22?

The caps and bevel work but “S” for shell isn’t working.

For the sides just leave the selection field blank and make sure that texture tag is listed first.

    Thanks again.

After I posted this I was fiddling around and moved that texture to the front and that did indeed fix the issue.
