  • How do i not get round spline points in a mask?

Posted by Miles Blow on January 16, 2012 at 3:07 am

Hi sometimes when Im creating a mask in ae I klick points with the mask tool (g) and I get the points with the 3 point spline(i think they are called) points that are really annoying when trying to mask out straight objects…what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

You need to be careful to click straight without dragging. If you accidentally create a “round point”, you can stop and option/alt+click to change it to a “straight point” , then continue masking as normal.

You can also find the convert points tool to break the bezier points, or convert them to linear, under the pen tool, the last one that looks like an angle.
