How do I move projects between computers without unused footage?
At my office, I am about to receive a second computer strictly for exporting/rendering/processing video while my current machine will be just for editing. My question is how do I transfer projects between the 2 without having to transfer unused footage so the transfer is faster?
The setup:
Each project has a folder that contains the project and all assets imported to each project. Both computers are going to be separate and will be networked together. Unused footage may be used for other projects so deleting isn’t an option for everything. Thanks -

Here’s the method – it works equally well in Premiere and After Effects. In Premiere, it’s called Project Manager, in AE, Collect Files.
It allows you to trim down your project, and put only what you’ve used (even trimmed, if you want – it will tell you the project trimmed size, as well). Lots of useful options:

Keep in mind that some Long GOP based codecs don’t get trimmed.
