    – Apply fast blur to the comp behind trapcode?

    – Apply fast blur as an adjustment layer below trapcode layer?

    – Setup cameras and turn the layers into 3D; Set the camera focus plane to where trapcode is and turn on DOF?

If for some reason none of Cory’s suggestions work, you can always force it. CC Force Motion Blur. What’s nice about that effect is that it only blurs to the amount you move so it’s intuitive.

    Hope that helps!
